PURPOSE, SOURCES & STANDARDS
Useful ideas.
Clear provenance.
BotScout is an independent directory of AI agent projects and automation use cases. It helps builders and small teams find a starting point, understand a workflow, and inspect the original source.
What BotScout does
Explore use cases for productivity, sales, customer support, research, and software development. Save promising finds in your browser, export a shortlist, and use the linked source to decide what to try. Browsing is free. BotScout does not build or operate the listed tools for you.
How Scout finds projects
Scout checks selected public sources on a schedule, filters candidate links, and removes duplicates. It does not search the entire internet. The homepage shows the actual scouting status; the animated notebook is a replay of recent finds, not a live browsing session.
BotScout uses automation and AI assistance in its research and writing workflow. Summaries, prompts, and suggested business angles are starting points for investigation. They are not independent product tests, customer testimonials, or evidence of earnings.
Three labels, three different starting points
- Editorial playbook
- A selected use case with a suggested workflow and practical steps based on the linked provider’s material. It is not a hands-on review or a ranking of the best tools.
- Scouted project
- An automatically discovered lead from public sources. Its claims may be unverified and the page may contain only a brief introduction. Follow the original source before relying on it.
- Community find
- A visitor’s submission, reviewed before publication. Approval means the find can appear in the directory; it does not certify the product or verify its performance.
Our publishing standard
A useful playbook should explain a specific task, link to its source, and offer concrete steps for evaluating the idea. We distinguish source material from our suggested business angles. “Added” dates record when an entry joined BotScout, not when a product launched or its claims were last verified.
Basic automated and community finds remain available to explore, but are excluded from our search sitemap and marked not to be indexed. They need substantive editorial work before becoming search landing pages. We do not sell editorial approval, invent product ratings, or promise financial results.
How BotScout makes money
AI tool makers can buy clearly labeled sponsorship placements. Payment does not automatically publish a listing: sponsorships are reviewed before activation. Sponsored links are identified as paid links, and sponsorship does not make a tool a recommended or tested product.
See sponsorship details ↗Corrections and suggestions
Found an outdated description, a broken link, or a claim that needs context? Use the submission form, include the BotScout page URL and original source, and describe the correction. The site owner reviews submissions; publication and response times are not guaranteed.
Suggest a find or correction ↗Evidence and evaluation reports
Evidence reports are separate from editorial briefs. Self-reported pilots describe contributor observations. Benchmark-scored reports calculate metrics from supplied outputs using a versioned synthetic suite; execution and human judgments are not independently verified. Owner review checks completeness and publication suitability. Sponsorship cannot buy a score or an evidence label.
Published reports include conditions, limitations, and a version history. Owner annotations create a new version; incorrect measurements should be withdrawn and replaced with a new report. Raw benchmark drafts and reviewer identifiers are private to the owner. No product is certified by these reports.

Saved finds, comparison selections, and Launchpad plans and notes stay in this browser. Plans are not uploaded or synced to an account; download a copy before clearing browser data. Newsletter signups are for the Scout Brief launch list; email delivery has not started. We also collect daily aggregate traffic and engagement counts for up to 90 days, without visitor identifiers, stored search text, or full referrer URLs. Evidence contributions require separate consent and never import Launchpad notes. Published reports remain until withdrawal; pending and rejected records expire after 90 days. A private receipt lets contributors remove their report and stored versions. Evaluation inquiries are private, retained for up to 180 days, and create no payment or email subscription. The privacy notice explains these counts and includes a browser opt-out, alongside information about submissions, sponsorships, and data requests.
